MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE

Feeling famished ...
One eye jars open close to midnight
The hunger overpowers me ...
The craving consumes my whole being
My humanity requires nutrition
My insides wail for sustenance
For revival, nourishment, replenishment
For satisfaction of nutrients ...
My psyche tries to fight the hunger
My whole being tries to resist ...
I am unable to withstand temptation...
Finally, my body rolls off the bed
I surrender with resignation...
Place my feet gently on the floor
Go to the bookshelf …
And get a book to read
in search of knowledge.
