The Hitchhiker (chapter 4)

Store Clerk: "Are you sure miss?"

Me: "Yes, I'm sure."

Store Clerk: "Would that be all?"

Me: "Yes, I should be on my way now, thanks."

Store Clerk: "Not a problem and you're welcome."

I payed the clerk for the chocolate bars
and rushed out the door.
I jumped in the car
and sped off.

Gas Attendent: "I wonder what her problem was?"

Store Clerk: "Something must have scared her off."

Gas Attendent: "Maybe it was that
guy that came in earlier."

Store Clerk: "It might have been."

Gas Attendent: "I've never seen him
around here before."

Store Clerk: "Me neither."

The rain had calmed down a bit.
I was on the highway for about
ten minutes, when I saw a
dark figure walking on the side
of the road.
The dark figure turned around
and stuck his thumb out.
