I took my coffee into the
livingroom and sat in the chair
by the fireplace.
I had a splitting headache.
Missy, the babysitter, woke up.

Missy: "Have you been awake all night?"

Cynthia: "No, I got a few hours
of sleep, the kids woke me up."

Missy: "What time did you get home?"

Cynthia: "A little after 3:30 this morning."

Missy: "You must be tired."

Cynthia: "Yeah, a little."

I forgot all about Tony being
sound asleep in the car.

Cynthia: "I heard on the radio that
there was another hit and run
last night."

Missy: "Oh my God!"

Cynthia: "The person that got hit was
killed by a drunk driver."

Missy: "Another one?"

Cynthia: "I'm afraid so."

Missy got up, went to the kitchen
and made herself a coffee.
She came back into the livingroom
and sat back down on the couch.

Missy: "Was it anybody we knew?"

Cynthia: "I don't know."

Missy: "Did you want me to
turn the radio on?"

Cynthia: "No, not yet, I don't want
the kids to get scared."

Missy: "I understand."

I set my coffee on the table
sitting beside me and put my
head in my hands.

Missy: "Are you okay?"

Cynthia: "I have a whopper of a headache."

Missy: "Did you want me to
get something for you?"

Cynthia: "Yes, if you don't mind."
