Silver Box

When I saw this little silver box,
It was so pretty, just sitting there all alone.
It looked like such a gift within it's self,
I felt I needed to give it to to someone special.
I didn't have much money and it was to small
To put all that I would like to give to you inside.
While I stood and looked at it,
It keep tugging at my heart.
I thought, I must be silly to give such a gift.
I thought, how earthly treasures just perish.
I wanted to fill it with something special.
My thoughts were all I had.
I thought of how much I loved you but,
How could I ever put my feelings in such a little box?
As I looked inside so clean and white it was.
So I said (I LOVE YOU) and left it there inside.
As I stood there thinking,
I thought of all the memories,
We have shared together as man and wife.
Life has not always been so easy.
You would probably be the first to say.
I know I'm not perfect, though I wish I knew how.
But in time, I know ,I never will.
A beauty Queen; I will never be,
But oh the joy you make me feel,
When you say, you're still a good looking woman.
Years ago you stole my heart,
where you keep it ,I will never know.
Maybe you can store it in your little silver box.
When you're alone, just take off the lid.
Let all the love and life we've shared
Float out and stay awhile.
I'll always be your Valentine.
I hope you will always be mine.
So when you feel you have nothing,
Just take a look inside.
You will see a trusting heart,
For I left it there inside.
You will also fine honesty, and loyalty,
Riches you could never buy.
For see, you have captured the heart of a poet.
From only one ROSE. Your Valentine forever.
