Scenes From Bus Rides Home #2The Robery Beautiful evening through downtown, I love these bus rides home, Past corner stores, hotels, boutiques, Surrounded by cell phones. The furrier's, a men's' suite shop, A supermarket store, A movie house, a restaurant And laundromat next door. Opps! Over there a robbery! A masked man with a gun! A hustle, bustle chase by cops! They get him on the run! Shrill sirens wail; loud shouts I hear In through this window down. A hit! A scuffle! Captured him- In seconds on the ground! Next day I read- “A Mask Man's Try”- Thank God that failed that day, That I could little do about As I rode on my way. Old downtown rumbles all day long And boogies through the night. I oft do ponder scenes I see From robberies to fights. W.C.Hull © 2003 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Send Feedback/Comments |
