Scenes From Bus Rides Home #3Two Silhouettes In A Diner It's tired I am as I sit there And lean my head back on My seat and almost close my eyes, But, there something is wrong. Two silhouettes in a diner Sit seemingly in peace And love, enjoying there a meal, When in walk two police. They flash their badges, escort her, While he just sits there still. As off they drive with her in back He goes to pay the bill. Then runs out fast, jumps in his sports, Hits metal pedal gas And speeds away to freeway's west Moving so really fast. What was the reason for it all? I'll never, ever know! Just one more scene from bus rides home As after work I go. W.C.Hull © 2003 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Send Feedback/Comments |
