             Every Morning

I wake up every morning
And expect to see you there
Then I remember you've gone away
I really don't know where

Was it me that made you run?
Was it something I had done?
My time with you was so much fun
Oh why did you have to run?

The love you had for me had gone
You said you loved another man
I hope you both have lots of fun
As I sit here on my own

I'll never even love again
And honestly I don't care
I'll drown my sorrow with a beer
I'll starve myself till I'm no longer here

When I take my final breath
I'll see your face in my head
On the day that I am dead
Keep this poem in your head
