   Animals In The Storm

The thunder claps and roars
The lightning flashes like a flickering bulb
I watch this fantastic show
As the sky flickers and glows

The sky is so dark
Then is suddenly lit
A fork of lightning flies across the sky
Hoping to strike something nearby

The storm clouds are dark
Almost changing to black
There's another clap of thunder
Then it starts to pour with rain

Throughout the storm
Animals are hiding
Trying to stay safe and warm
Until it's the end of the storm

Some animals have no warning
Of the storm that's heading for them
But before its overhead
They are running to their beds

Once the storm has blown over
The animals appear from where they hide
They go back to their routine
Of eating, drinking and staying alive
