          Moon Watch

I lay here and I watch the moon
Looking at the mighty moon
It will pass fairly soon
That wonderful bright moon

I try to think what its like
To walk on something that's so bright
Being so far from home
Being up there all alone

The Earth must look so beautiful
When you're standing on the moon
The Earth must look so peaceful
With its shades of green and blue

All those stars are closer
Than being here on Earth
Out there in the blackness
That surrounds the Earth

Watching the moon from a telescope
Will take your breath away
Nothing will prepare you
For the way you'll be amazed

As the sun starts rising
The moon will disappear
Yet in a darkened place on Earth
It will begin to appear
