       Shooting Star

Last night I saw a shooting star
I understand it was a meteor
I was staring at the stars so high
When I saw it go shooting by

I heard it happens once a year
And this time I made a wish
I rarely see an event like this
Its something I didn't want to miss

As I stared above me
I saw another one
In total I think I saw
At least another four

I'd waited for this moment
For ever so long
When I saw those meteors
I felt oh so glad

I'd seen a small miracle
That happened out in space
This was something I couldn't miss
So I patiently had to wait

I know that many people
Saw what I saw
This was one of those moments
Where I was amazed at what I saw
