Drowning (part 3)

I was left alone on the beach.
I was so upset and scared,
I didn't know what to do.
As I sat alone on the beach,
it was getting darker.
The air felt really cold.
Strange for a summer evening.
I felt a cold chill running up my spine.

I heard screams.
It was so dark, I couldn't see
where my friends were.
I called out.
No answer.
I called out for a second time.
No answer.
I knew something was terribly wrong.

Then I heard laughter.
Phew!
Everything is okay.
I stood at the water's edge.
As I was turning around,
I saw a dark image just a
few feet away from me.

"Who are you?" I yelled out.

No response.
I yelled out again.
Still, no response.
Then just as fast as the
dark figure appeared,
it disappeared.
