Drowning (part 4)

I felt a cold, slimey hand touching me on the shoulder.
Too scared to turn around, I ran.

"Hey," yelled Jennifer, "it's only me."

I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around.

"Oh my god," I said, "I didn't know it was you."

She had a strange look on her face, as if she didn't know what I was talking about.

"Who else did you think it was," she asked, "the boogie man?"

"Yeah, you're funny," I said, "I just saw a dark figure a few feet away from me and you deicde to come up from behind and scare the living sh*t out of me."

"Do you know who it was?" Asked Jennifer.

"No, I called out, but there was no answer."

"Then just as suddenly as the figure appeared, it was gone," I replied.

The rest of the gang ran up to see what was going on.

"Cynthiasaw something," said Jennifer.

"Everything is okay now, you guys just go back into the water and have fun," I said.

"Are you coming with us?" asked Tara (another friend of mine).

"Um... I don't know if I should," I said as I stood there with glazed eyes.

Jennifer went up to the car,
jumped in the driver's seat
and started it up.

"What are you doing?" I yelled out.

"I'm bringing the car down to the water, so we can have some light," she replied.
