Face In The Mirror (part 4)

I ran out into the hallway,
snuck around the corner and
looked for something
to use as a weapon.

I found a bat behind a door.
I heard footsteps.
Coming closer, closer.
Nothing.

The hall was an empty shell.
I turned around.
There was the face.
The face I saw in the mirror.

I took the bat and
swung it as hard as I could.

WHACK!

The body dropped to the floor,
like a dead weight.
I knelt down to see
if it was still alive.
I noticed the face was a mask.

I pulled up the mask,
to reveal what was underneath.
I jumped back,
let out a loud scream and
dropped to my knees.

The face that was under the mask,
was my best friend.

This was the very first story I wrote. I know it's short. I wanted to try something different.
