Rejection

For so many years
he had a crush on her,
at times he was
to shy to go
and talk to her.

Time and time again
he saw her
walk past him,
but he never stopped
to tel her how he felt.

There was a scholl dance
coming up and he
wanted to ask her to go,
he finally got up the
courage to ask.

He didn't know
that he was setting
himself up to feel
pain in his heart,
the girl that he loved,
for so many years,
had said no.

Maybe it was
his attitude,
or maybe it was
his looks that
she didn't like,
he felt his heart
break in two,
like a twig.

He'll never go up
to her again,
to end up being,
rejected and have
his heart broken.
