My Mother,My Best Friend

My Mother, My Friend
Dedicated to Christine Smith, my loving mother, written 2/16/1985

I have a dear friend,
The name I need not say.
She's always been there,
Even from day one.
When I need to talk or maybe take a walk,
She, I can rely upon.
Yes, my MOM, she don't mind to listen.
She listens to all my complaints,
Helps me when I am burdened.
She never tells the secrets, that I share with her.
God gave me this dear friend,
picked her out especially for me.
She gives me strength to go on in hard times.
She pulls me from the arms of disappointment.
She gives me hope and pleasure,to go on.
A precious ray of sunshine, a loving mother and friend.
I never get tired of our talks.
When we part, I always feel better.
