MY SWEET VALENTINE

By: Lavina Burgess

A valentine poem, for the one you love
With whispers of passion
And kindness and lust
For this “Sweethearts Day”

Pots of PrimRoses, Lillies and Mums
Of bold and vivid colors
And the sun, bringing in shades of gold
Spring will soon be here, and winter will fold

Red satin pillows, shaped like hearts
Made with mothers white lace
And a cupid's arrow...
Pointed straight to her heart

Cordial cherry chocolates, or a ring would be fine
A card that says... “WILL YOU BE MINE?”
A soft, cuddly, teddy bear
Or maybe, a candle lit dinner, for two

Put some logs on the fire, and hold her close
And whisper sweet words, like...
“ I LOVE YOU, WILL YOU BE MINE?”
My Sweet Valentine!
