SPRING IS UPON US

By: Lavina Burgess
2/29/2004

The sounds of Spring outside my door
And on the front lawn, a robin once more
His head is turning from side to side
And he's looking for worms with pride

The buds are now sprouting...
With little green leaves
To shade us all...
So we can sit and enjoy our ice tea

The squirrel's are chasing, after each other
Waiting all winter to find their mate
The birds in the tree, singing cheerfully
As the big ole cat... waits fearfully

The sun shining brightly
As I sit amazed
With the wind softly blowing...
My chimes in the corner

The Spring rain now falling
And hitting my window pane
Once again...it's Mother Nature
Preparing us for the glorious colors

Goodbye ole winter
For we'll see you again
For right now your behind us
And Spring... has sprung once again!
