Please Don't  Weep

Please don't weep, or cry for me,
Be happy that you've set me free,
I suffered much, you know, that's true,
I just let go, so why can't you?

I'm still beside you, don't you see,
I watched you say 'Goodbye' to me,
And as you laid me in the ground,
You stood alone, within the crowd.

I felt the tears, which choked you so,
You didn't want to let me go,
You stayed when all the rest had gone,
But did you feel the love, so strong.

And did you feel my tender touch,
Which told you, you were loved so much,
I was with you, held your hand,
Please know, someday, you'll understand.

I had to leave you, duty done,
We never mourn the setting sun,
It never really goes away,
The bond we share is here to stay.

So do not weep, or cry today,
You see, I never went away,
Your loving thoughts for me, reached out,
I'm close beside you, have no doubt.

And as you let your tears run free,
I knew that this was down to me,
I stood beside you, stroked your hair,
To let you know how much I care.
