There's Never A Rainbow

There’s never a rainbow,
Without lots of rain,
You never know love,
Without feeling the pain.

You never fly high,
Without diving so low,
You first have to stop,
Before you can go.

You have to know cold,
To know when you’re warm,
You have to know calm,
When you ride out the storm.

You have to feel hunger,
Before you can taste,
You have to have plenty,
Before you know waste.

You have to have friends,
So you’re foes, you dispel,
You have to know illness,
To know when you’re well.

There’s never a rainbow,
Without lots of rain,
A lesson for living,
There’s no gain without pain.
