How Many Moons

How many moons,
Will rise and fall,
Before you call again,

Another day, another night,
In desperate,
Discontent.

How many clouds,
Will pass my way,
Obscuring clear blue sky,

And leave me ever wondering,
And ever asking,
Why?

Why was it you,
Who stumbled by,
And knocked me off my feet,

Why was it me,
Who held you close…….
Why did we have to meet.

An ocean lies,
Between us,
Of tears and sweet regret,

It’s in the hands,
Of destiny,
But it hasn’t happened yet,

How many moons,
Will rise and fall,
Before you call again,

I know for sure,
We’ll meet once more,
But can you tell me when?
