I Told You

I told you that I loved you,
Too many times and more,
I told you that you touched my soul,
The deepest, darkest core.

The essence of my being,
Was being there with you,
And if you weren't in my life,
I don't know what I'd do.

I told you that I lie awake,
And think of you each night,
And without you the sky so blue,
Would never look so bright.

The sun would never seem as warm,
When you were not around,
And the stars that twinkled in the dark,
Would tumble to the ground.

I told you that I couldn't laugh,
Or smile, without you close,
And if by chance you walked away,
I'd just give up the ghost.

For if you left me here alone,
And found a love that's new,
The flowers would simply wither,
But not my love for you.

I told you that I loved you,
Without you I'd have died,
But now you've found another,
I guess I must have lied.
