The Blackbird

Today was warm no sign of rain,
No teardrops on my window pane,
The sun shone bright without a cloud,
The little blackbird sang out loud.

His cheerful tune for company,
He rests upon my balcony,
He serenades me from on high,
Before he reaches to the sky.

The sun so hot, it burns my skin,
It's time for me to come back in,
So long my little feathered friend,
Good things, it seems, come to an end.

And all is well for him, for me,
He finds a branch on nearby tree,
I hear him sing his song once more,
I pull the shades and close the door.
