Born Free

We travel here from whence we came,
We know not rhyme or reason,
Oblivious to officialdom,
We're nourished by each season.

We're caught up in the mystery,
Of life and all its treasures,
We run and dance without a care,
Delighting in life's pleasures.

And unaware that we are just,
A number with a name,
We're processed through society,
And deemed to play the game.

For some of us will struggle,
To fight the powers that be,
Encumbered by the rulebook.
And all of us, born free.
