The Silence When I awoke the clock said dawn,
I wondered where the sun had gone,
For I was greeted by a mist,
The russet trees remain unkissed.
The shady outline of the trees,
Stand still untouched by autumn breeze,
And shrouded by a foggy sheet,
The mist brings silence to the street.
Its quietness permeates my being,
I see, but I remain unseeing,
With hope and faith instilled in me,
The silence simply lets me be.
