I sometimes think of all the things you say,
And wonder if you'd say the same today,
Life passes with the ticking of a clock,
And how I wish that we could simply talk.
And would you say the things you really mean,
There's been so much unsaid, so much unseen,
You're trying to be kind by letting go,
And do not realise you hurt me so.
I know that it's not easy in your shoes,
But tell me, just what do you have to lose,
By reaching up and outwards for that star,
And the love that shines upon you from afar.
You hold my destiny within your hand,
And one day soon I hope you understand,
That I'll be here for you if you desire,
Just spread your wings and fly a little higher.
