What Lies Beyond the Moment of our Death?

You Asked Why?

You Asked Why?

You asked why…
I was thinking…
There was a silence…
I watched a shooting star…
Heard a car horn honk
Or was it beep?
Maybe - “by the dashboard light “?
The night was hot with a coolness
That a summer night should never have.
I thought about what
I should answer to you,
What I thought you wanted to hear,
What was right.
Looking into your eyes I knew that
No matter what I said,
To you I'd be wrong.
Yet - I wanted to please you,
So, I simply said -
Yes dear!
