On the hillside, stands a farm
By two springs, on the west side shore
Secluded, by Live Oak trees
A place, where swimmers go
Glistening waters, fed by cool springs
Surrounded by farms, and country homes
Orange groves, so neatly in rows
As far, as one can see
Mother Natures wildlife, and wild flowers
Children playing in the fields
Willow branches, reaching out
For nesting birds, and to give us shade
Hikers and bird watchers, sprinkled by the misty falls
Glimmering lakes, where the fishermen go
And...where our children swim
To cool off, from the heat
Five miles, from the city limits
A dismal smog, lingers low
High rise apartments, shopping mall, and SUV's
Air pollution...where the air no longer clean
Where are the Oaks, the brooks and streams?
Why are the animals, being pushed... out of their habitat?
Running around and confused, looking for food
Where's the fresh air gone, and the fields of clover?
Five miles from city limits, away from the smog
And the high rise apartments and pollution
No huge shopping malls, or condos
Just clean fresh air, and nothing but...
Country living, for our children, and theirs!
