As I Kissed You Good-bye

It was time for me to leave
as I kissed you good-bye,
I said, "I love you"
wiped tears from my eyes.

You asked if I was ok
I replied, "I'm fine,"
you saw the sadness
in my teary eyes.

I didn't want to leave
wanted to stay at your bedside,
my eyes filled with tears
as I kissed you good-bye.

I wrote this last night after I got home. It was a very hard write.
