Sleepless Nights

Every time we say goodbye
Inside my heart starts to cry
The tears slowly find their way
To my eyes then roll down my face

I climb into bed wishing you were here
Feeling your head against my chest
Tossing and turning over and over
Wishing right now we were together

I lay my hand on your side of our bed
It feels so cold and empty
I cry because you aren't there
I can't feel your warm body

I pick up a teddy that holds your picture
The teddy that you named Morghan
I gently kiss your picture
As I whisper, I wish you were here

I place Morghan and your picture
On your pillow where your head would be
I close my eyes as I say I love you
Slowly placing my hand on your side of our bed

Sometimes I find it hard to sleep
Because you aren't sleeping next to me
Eventually I drift off to sleep
Because I know you're waiting for me in my dreams
