Welcome to San Francisco,

City of sparkle and shimmer,

The city that is fresh,

~

The city of glimmer,

Glowing with life,

~

Warm welcome, to all newcomers,

From a city with a heart, and a smile,

~

That will warm and charm you,

Come on stay awhile,

Really happy to meet you!

~

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The cable car climbs the hill

~

People hopping on and hopping off

Oh what a lovely day, oh what a thrill

~

Ochre & white car climbs slowly to the stars

While presenting a vista of sights to our eyes

~

Stately old mansions, chic shops, hotels, & bars

A faint whirr it's so quiet, it's hard to realize

~

Up up up we go and finally we top the hill

Looking down on the tops of the skyscrapers

~

Wharves, ships, houses all assorted colors,

Up so high, objects looks like colored papers

~

Flowers strewn all over the street

Such a view, the bridges, the waters, the parks,

~

So many places, can only name a few

Ah! Such beauty! And what a treat!

~

The "Painted Ladies* ",

The Magnifencence, Oh! God! The view..

~

(*houses restored from the gold rush days

painted in beautiful colors)
