Gotta  Fly

~
Berries Candy Rain
~
She was singing this song
Now she had left
I was still humming along
~
Something about rain
Berries and such
Where did we go wrong
~
I met her two years ago
Everything had been great
We love our music slow
~
Slow and building
Building, higher and higher
Quickly descending
~
Unable to quench our fire
Covered in wanton' lust
Full of passion and desire
~
She said don't cry
I have to leave
All I could do was ask WHY?
~
She kissed me on the tip of my nose,
Said “well I gotta fly.”
Handed me a single dark red rose
~
And out the door
Well tears fell and fell
Just a monsoon rain on my floor
~
She never looked back at me
Climbed on her Harley
And was gone 123
~
It's been a year since she went away
And I often think of her
It was her birthday, today
~
She poor thing
So weakened and sick
My tears softly soothe the sting
~
Standing listening to the angels sing
Her struggle over
And to her casket, I cling
