Kid's life

Off into the darkness we used to stare
But mom and dad were not anywhere
One night the police came from some where
*
Said we had to go with them
1 was big and 1 was slim
We didn't want to go with them
*
I felt my heart cry
While my eyes stayed dry
I was pondering why?
*
The ache of childhood
The despair, the loneliness
We tried and were usually good
*
What do they know?
To the hospital mom had to go
About our dad we just didn't know
*
We clammed up and wouldn't give an inch
One thing we already knew life wasn't a cinch
We stayed silent and we never flinch
*
So little not wanting to be keen
Why was the world so mean
Thank god we were finally seen
