"LITTLE SPARROW"

I carried you within me, until you were born. And patched your clothes, when they got torn. I curled your hair, with ribbons and bows, and cried some tears, as I watched you grow. I told you stories when you were small, and stood behind you, if you should fall. I went to your school concerts, bursting with pride, as you would sing. You gave your best, at everything. As you grew older, some things changed, when you got hurt, it was hard for me to refrain. Through all the changes among the years, You'll find that mommies often shed tears. Whenever they're happy, as when they are sad, The memories of you, are the best tears I've shed. For, you were my sparrow, who now flies to sing, I'll be waiting here for you, to patch up your wings. So, be careful little sparrow, soar proudly, and high. For, Mommy had raised you, so that someday, you'd FLY!
