She sits in the classroom
After being called a bad name,
From a friend since childhood
Looking for a better life of fame.

Her blonde hair hangs down
As tears stream down her face,
A little heart torn and shattered
Over a friendship, that can't be replaced.

The teacher calls her into the hallway
And asks her, "What's wrong?"
The child tells her what had happened
Her soul now sings a different song.

Not a song of happiness
But a song with great sorrow,
Tears of a child are painful
Hoping for a brighter day tomorrow.
