Waiting by the phone

I'm by the phone

And still it doesn't ring

It sets silent; I let out a groan

``

The silence is deafening

I pick up the phone

To see if it's working

Gawd I am so alone

~

Here I wait

In this room

She is late

I remember her perfume

~

The phone a symbol of despair

No ring no sweet hello

Pulling out my hair

~

All I need to keep

From going crazy

Is anything but a beep

A sweet good

Morning and hello

It would, yes it would

Do the trick....
