Hop-A-Long

Lift...luck...show

Lift her foot,

Pull off her boots,

Give out a hoot.

As luck would have it,

The show must go on,

But she wouldn't sit.

~

And finally she fell.

Thud... on the floor,

She said, "Oh, swell.

~

Gawd, that hurt,

I must get on stage,

Don't mean to be curt."

~

She said, "Help me up",

I lifted her as best as I could,

I laughed, she said, "Shut up".

~
She groaned, tried to talk.

Must have really hurt her

Moaning, she tried to walk

~

She said, "Get me to the bed",
