Sleeping Giants
The forest was full and green
Animals could be easily seen
Lakes and rivers all crystal clear
Good for fishing and hunting deer
See the changes, no one could
The happenings not understood
Pressure building silently
Still looking beautifully
Poisonous gas blowing
As the mountain keeps growing
Then without a warning
And before morning
The mountain blew 10 miles high
Soot and ash covered the sky
Lava roared down the slope
There was little hope
400 miles MPH they say
No time to run away
The earth sent its proclamation
Life was ended by suffocation
The sleeping giant roared
Its energies no longer stored
