The families are feeling the pain
Over their lost loved ones,
Felt they were being lied to
After much miscommunication.

The lives of the miners
Were splashed on the front page of papers,
Before anyone knew the real truth
After they found out, they were inhaling deadly vapors.

One managed to survive
Out of thirteen men,
Fights broke out inside the church
Families trying to get even.

No even an apology was given
To the grieving families,
I don't find that's right
It still wouldn't have put them at ease.
