What Makes A Poet?

What makes a poet
This day in age?
All I see is
Jumbled up words on a page.

I fight and strive
All hours of night,
Trying to make sense of it all
I won't give up my fight.

Words come to me
When I lay my head down,
Can't write them fast enough
My mind starts to drown.

What makes a poet?
I'm sure I don't know,
All I hear is words
They begin to echo.
