Solace

Image hosting by Photobucket

It seems that winter days are long and dark,
We hide ourselves away from icy chill,
Sometimes it pays to walk down to the park,
And watch the sun set on a yonder hill,

I feel a deep connection with the tree,
That stands alone amidst a sea of green,
Though burdened, here I set the spirit free,
Commit to yesterday, the pain I've seen,

I stay a while and wonder at the view,
How fortunate I am to just be here,
And breathing in the sunset, I renew,
A deep contentment, free from pain or fear,

It seems that winter days are long and dark,
I find my solace walking in the park.
