Until Spring
When it was young,
It grew,
Straight and tall,
And reached out,
To a dark,
Star filled sky,
It grew,
To maturity,
Twisted and turning,
To accommodate,
The eager changing,
Tides of the moon,
It grows old now,
Joints knotted,
And gnarled,
Yet still strong,
No longer beautiful,
But triumphantly,
Embracing,
The familiar,
And resting,
Quietly, regenerating,
Until spring.
