I wrote awhile,
A story, true,
Which made me smile,
A time, a place,
Sweet memory,
A prelude,
Of what came to be,
And through the tears,
I smiled again,
Recalling now,
A sweet refrain,
Oblivious,
To summers song,
That led us both,
Where we belong,
The honeysuckle,
Heady scent,
A place to dream,
Where love was meant,
You tiptoed softly,
To my door,
With you I needed,
Nothing more,
Last evening, late,
I wrote to you,
Our story told,
In pages blue,
And guided there,
My place to dream,
I re-rehearsed,
The final scene.
