A velvet sky
Woven midnight blue
Sequinned stars
Sewn in silken thread
A satin moon
Luminescent
Cold and uninviting
Yet magical

Its sharpness
Defies distance
Its light
Defying time
And the reality
Of space

Though far from here
It reaches
Touching the hearts
Of lovers
Mindful of its pull
On the oceans
