Knight In Shining Armour

Too tired to dream of knights in shining armour,
Sitting handsome on a true and trusty steed,
By day he weaves a spell of strength and valour,
By night he speaks of longing and of need,

A knight, as distant as a clap of thunder,
His lightning strikes a bolt out of the blue,
He lifts you when you feel you're going under,
And serenades you with a song or two,

In dark of night he plies you with his passion,
His silver tongue will tease you with a kiss,
He woos you with his words as is his fashion,
You wonder if there's more to him than this,

He speaks of love despairing in its season,
And now and then he lets his angels through,
They gather round, it's then he finds a reason,
To open up his heart and write to you.
