I Thought Of You

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I know you're out there somewhere, perhaps talking and laughing with people, as you do, or maybe sitting alone, like me, all duty calls made, and settled quietly for the night.

There's a storm here in my little corner of the world. Fork lightning illuminates the evening sky. I watch it transfixed from the window. There is no accompanying thunder nor is there any rain, only lightning and it makes me feel uneasy.

Perhaps that's why I thought of you tonight ……

I watch the storm far off in the west, angry daggers of light senselessly stabbing at the ground, violent and fearsome, it's heading my way and all I can do, is wait.

Perhaps that's why I thought of you tonight ……

I saw great billowing clouds like steam from a cauldron, and carried by tempest. I know the rain will come soon, heralded by thunder breaking overhead.

And when tears of heaven fall the storm will abate and all will be calm and well. Tomorrow, God willing, the sun will shine,

Perhaps that's why,

I thought of you tonight.
