"Momma"

Momma... as I close my eyes
I see an image of you
I then thank God, for a mother like you

Momma... while I was a child
You taught me right from wrong
And... as I got older, it made me strong

Momma... The rough times you had
It makes me so sad
I know... its all because of dad

Momma... When the storms was bad
In the middle of the night
I knew you were near, then I felt alright

Momma... remember the wild flowers
I picked in the fields
And when I stepped in the cow patties...
Up to my heels

Momma... I miss your rice pudding and pies
Your toot-tooting baked beans and fries
The huge vegetable garden, and...
Tall sun flowers, that reached the sky

Momma... every night I pray to God
To keep you safe and near
And... every night I whisper...
Momma....wish you were here

Thank you God... for Adam and Eve
Mom and dad, not Adam and Steve
Thank you God... for the birds and the bee's
and the flowers and the trees

Thank you momma... for all those years
With your gentle hands to wipe our tears
Thank you momma... for my sisters and brothers
We all want to say... “Thank You Mother!”

“Happy Mother's Day” to All Of You Mom's, and Peace to you and all!
