Shelter From The Rain

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I met you quite by accident,
We sheltered from the rain,
Two distant love worn lovers,
Destined to meet again,

The recognition instant,
An old familiar scene,
The conversation guarded,
"Hello, how have you been?

We talk about the weather,
The thoughts turn deepest blue,
I tell you all is well with me,
Is it the same for you?

I see the distance in your eyes,
A look of quiet regret,
"Been looking ….
For someone like you,
I haven't met her yet",

I look at him, this man I loved,
The years have numbed the pain
He's just a stranger to me now,
Seeking shelter; from the rain.
