Poetic Verses - Together, Apart

I know you're out there somewhere,
Across a stormy sea,
And when I sit alone at night,
I can almost feel you near,

I know your hearts still beating,
The way it used to do,
Your soul will come to me again,
I can feel that too,

I know you're with another,
And you're held by something else,
But can you see the price you pay,
To give another strength,

Do you feel, that what we had,
Was precious, gold and true,
Do you feel my heartache,
Whilst I sit and wait for you,

My life is full …. And empty,
The way it used to be,
Before you came and touched my heart,
And set my spirit free,

Your love came like a comet,
And blazed a trail for me,
I realized that from that day,
I'm an acorn, you're the tree,

This love will last forever,
It will take me through my day,
And when this life is over,
We will travel on our way,

And we will be together,
Of this, I am so sure,
For I know, there's not another soul,
To take me home like you,

But this is for the future,
The presents', so unclear,
And time stands still for no man,
Can't you see?
That I'm still here.
