No Place To Hide

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I press hard against the heavy wooden door,
And enter quietly lest I break the spell,
My footsteps echo on a marble floor,
And in this silent sanctuary, all is well,

The sun shines through an image of the Lord,
Depicted in a blaze of coloured light,
His hands and feet are bound and tied with cord,
A thorny crown; companion in the night,

I stare into His haunted, tender eyes,
And feel the love of Spirit drawing near,
I say a prayer, confess my alibis,
And wipe away a single saline tear,

I make my peace; I know He's on my side,
For in His midst, there is no place to hide.
