Poetic Verses - For Shaun

I'm writing this for Shaun ….
Who is Shaun?
My friend's son, is Shaun,
A shining light,
Just 15 years,
A good boy, caring, kind, sensitive,
Fun loving, sensible, generous and loved,
Yes, Shaun is loved so much,
And there is so much more to say,
About Shaun …

I'm writing this for Shaun,
And I can't make it rhyme,
And I can't find the reason,
And I'm crying for Shaun,
And I have a well of grief that chokes me,
And the tears won't stop,
Because, I just heard that he's gone,

Shaun had a brain tumour,
And no one knew,
No signs and no symptoms,
Shaun was just 15,
His life planned,
He knew what he wanted,
He would be a pilot,
And Shaun would fly,

And I know,
It was his time to go,
But that is no comfort right now,

God has taken him home,
Perhaps, God needed him,
But, Dear God,
Can't you see he was needed here too?
